Twilight Princess was more like the "entering the age of invention" for the world of Hyrule. Not really steampunk, but it's where they were starting to use more gun powder for more than just portable explosives.

More it's actually the Medieval era, but it's moving more and more into the Renaissance and Industrial eras, for a comparison.
